When you look at the narrative of your life, what characters do you see yourself playing?
The greatest (and perhaps most difficult) skill to master is truly and honestly understanding ourselves so we can leverage our greatest strengths, and live our personal and professional lives with authenticity. Many of us invest a lot of time and energy into discovering and cultivating our ‘authentic self’. Heck, Oprah made an entire career out of it!
But according to Dr. Marcia Reynolds, we don’t have just one authentic self; instead, each of us are made up of several selves, or ‘archetypes’, that we draw on in various situations. Often, we define ourselves according to archetypes without realizing it. Ever referred to yourself (or someone else) as a ‘fixer’, or a ‘comedian’, or an ‘inspirer’? You were using archetypes.
The more successful we are, the better we are at drawing out the parts of ourselves that help us achieve our goals. But if we only define ourselves in one way – as ‘a fighter’ or ‘a leader’, for example – we win some and lose some. Why? Because different situations in our career and in our lives require different archetypal approaches. (Try turning up your ‘fighter’ archetype with your spouse, and see how far you get!)
In this teleclass, Marcia will show you how to uncover the three archetypes that you express most often right now in your life, your three ‘dominant selves.’ These selves are the Board of Directors making your life decisions. She’ll reveal how you can bring them all together in one place – so you can be Chairman of the Board. You’ll learn how to identify when you are calling on one archetype, so you can choose to call on another one if you think the results will be better.

Marcia is also a pioneer in the coaching profession and was the 5th president of the International Coach Federation. She was one of the first 25 people in the world to earn the designation of Master Certified Coach (MCC). She is also a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP).
